How much should I invest in website design?

In order to determine how much money to spend on a website, first you need to be aware of the fact that any money you spend on your website will be an investment. Website should be more than something just to have so you do not get embarrassed when people ask about your web address.  You should have a return on your investment and this is possible regardless of the type of the website you are having in mind.

Secondly, you should establish how valuable your website is to your company. What is your website going to do for your business? Is it just an online brochure? Are you trying to get the appearance of legitimacy? Are you trying to sell something on your website? Or more importantly, will it be your main move to attract more customers? Determining these tasks determines the importance of your website and consequently the amount you would be willing to invest on your website. If it is essential to your business to have a well developed website, then prepare yourself to invest a good amount into it.

We help you perceive yourself

How you perceive yourself is how your clients see you. Don’t just make a website, put on a show. In the online world, customers remember primarily the design and then they remember the words. You might try to play with words but you have to try to paint a picture of what you offer. The more strikingly your website is, the more people will remember it. Do you have a vision? Let us expand it into something no one has done or heard of it before. Be the site that gets remembered!

Marketing

Online presence and online marketing is a package. Not only you need a website, you need the means of bringing it to the view. Introducing your website to your audience is as important as creating it. As I was writing these notes, my assistant asked me if it would be appropriate to put this note on the website. Her argument was that as our customers read it, one might change their mind and forget about making a website. But we believe in honest business and I believe customers should know what they are stepping into. I am sorry if the next paragraph disappoints you but it is the truth.

If you do not have time, means, energy and capital to invest into marketing your website, there is no point in developing one. Your website is worthless if there is no audience. You can even market your website by putting its name (domain) on your business card but you have to have something to help your customers find your website. There are many ways to market your website. Search engine optimization, online paid advertisements (Pay per Clicks), and Online Social Network bookmarking are some of the ways that you can introduce your products and services to the public. Please let our knowledgeable staff help you plan and organize your marketing campaign and reap the benefits of your hard work.

What is the best allocation of my online marketing budget?

It is essential to appropriately assign a right budget for your web design and your marketing. For instance, if you have a $12,000 budget for the first year, it is not recommended to spend $1,000 on your website and the rest on advertising, because most likely you will have a low conversion rate. You are investing money to bring customers to your website; it is not wise to let them bounce easily only because your website is not attractive enough. So the first step is to create relevant informative content plus well described products and services and finally appropriate design.  Now you can confidently invest money to bring audience to your website.

A good way to determine how to carve up your web design and advertising budget is based on how long you’ve been in business and how you’re planning to use your site. If you are an established business looking for a website redesign, then you will want to spend more on the marketing than on the website, approximately 70% marketing and 30% design.  If it’s a new business, you will want it to be more evenly split, approximately 50/50.  For a business that relies solely on the website for its income, such as an e-commerce site (online store), a little less on the marketing and more on the website is recommended. Approximately a 40/60 split would be reasonable.
